Susan Farrelly Artist
Susan Farrelly is an multi disciplinary artist and educator with a strong interest in collaborative interactions and place, identity, embodiment and the senses. She works with a variety of materials, and of her most recent work has been site-specific and relational, and has invited public participation.
Drawing is at the heart of all her creative expressions. Susan has been keeping art notebooks and journals since 1987. This collection of books has become an archive of her art practice. It is a space to allow ideas to grow and develop with recurring themes appearing over decades.
As an artist living in a rural location she seeks out collaboration and values diversity through exchange. She has been working over 30 years collaboratively in the community inquiring into engagement and accessible spaces. Farrelly studied Sculpture in NCAD graduating in 1996 with a 1st class Hons Degree and received an MFA with Distinction at the University of Creative Arts, UK (OCA) in 2021.
She is a founding member and the current chairperson of Art As Exchange (AAEX).
