Storytelling through film

Like all good projects ” Walking the Labyrinth” came from a conversation. It was interesting to see how the medium of film would help me gather an ongoing body of work that has been a lifetime in the making. There wasn’t a decade that I didn’t think on the subject, even when I was irked at it presenting itself again, vying for my attention. I have always used art as a means of processing the world about me, I communicate best visually – though I can often be private about what I make. This short documentary style film is the story of my birth in a Mother & Baby home and how, through my art I found out about my identity.

I collaborated with a small group of 4th year film students from DKIT. Firstly, I trusted them and their work ethic, and secondly I worked with them before and respected how they craft their films. The process of creating it together has been one of the most surprising, hard and yet enjoyable experiences.

“This quietly compelling film was technically superb, with an engaging well produced protagonist and a narrative arc that speaks to us. Poetic, hypnotic charming and simple story, beautifully told.”
